Sardar Patel College of Engineering Admission to Full Time Post Graduate (M.E.) Courses

Applications are invited for admission to the Full Time Course in M.E. (Civil) with Construction Management Subjects and M.E. (Mechanical) with Machine Design Subjects for the academic year 2011-12.a) For M. E. (Civil) with Construction Management Subjects

Candidates for being eligible for admission to the Master of Engg. in Civil Engg. must have obtained the degree of Bachelor of Engineering in Civil/Construction branch of Mumbai University or the Degree of Bachelor of Engg. In Civil/Construction branch of any other University recognized as equivalent to Bachelor of Engineering Degree of Mumbai University or must have passed the examination conducted by the Institution of Engineers (India) and qualify to become A.M.I.E. (India).

b) For M. E. (Mechanical) with Machine Design Subjects

Candidates who have obtained Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical /
Automobile / Production Engineering of Mumbai University or any other university recognized as equivalent to Bachelor of Engineering degree of Mumbai University or must have passed Examination conducted by Institution of Engineers (India) in Mechanical Engineering and qualify to become A.M.I.E. (India) are also eligible for Master of Engineering (Mechanical) with Thermal Engineering Subjects. (Full Time)

Application fee is Rs. 500/- (in case of open category) or Rs. 250/- (in case of reserved category) by cash or Demand Draft payable at Mumbai drawn in favour of “Principal, SPCE”.

Download and fill in the application form legibly and return it to the Principal. The envelope should be superscribed “Application for admission to M.E. with Structural / Thermal Engineering subjects” as the case may be.

Homi Bhabha National Institute DGFS-Ph.D. Programme for Engineering Post Graduate

Applications are hereby invited from Engineering post-graduates for the award of fellowships under the DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme for Ph.D. (DGFS-Ph.D.) for pursuing research in an Engineering discipline leading to the award of Ph.D. degree of HBNI.a. Qualifying Degree and other academic qualifications: Candidates should possess M.E. / M.Tech. or equivalent degree in Mechanical /Chemical / Metallurgical/ Nuclear / Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation or Computer engineering disciplines with minimum 60% Marks in B. E. / B. Tech. and minimum of 60% marks in M. E./ M. Tech. or equivalent degree as per the Ordinance of the respective degree awarding University OR equivalent CGPI (converted to % Marks by multiplying with 100/x if the CGPA is on x points scale).

b. Age limit: The candidates desirous of availing DGFS-Ph.D. Fellowship should have been born on or after August 1, 1983. Age limit is relaxable by three years for OBC and by five years for SC/ST applicants. The age limit for the candidates working as faculty in Engineering Colleges desirous of doing Ph.D. without the fellowship grant is 40 years.

c. Nationality: Applicant should be an Indian citizen.

Applicants who fulfill the above mentioned eligibility criteria, and whose M.Tech. project is of relevance to DAE, shall be called to BARC, Mumbai in July 2011 for a written screening test followed by interview of selected number of candidates based on the merit in the screening test.

The candidates should be prepared for a 10 minutes presentation on their research interest. Outstation applicants called for interview will be paid, after their interview, to and fro sleeper class train fare by shortest route, or actual fare which ever is less.
